Draft, to be reviewed
Terms of use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These draft terms govern use of Simple Trading Journal (the “Service”). They are written for a Belgian sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) offering a free-to-start SaaS. They are not legal advice. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
Provider: [TODO: legal name of the eenmanszaak], [TODO: registered address], [TODO: KBO/BCE number], [TODO: VAT number if applicable]. Contact: [TODO: support email].
The Service
The Service is a trading journal: you can log trades, track funded accounts and related activity, and review statistics. Features may change as the product develops.
Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login details confidential.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- The Service is intended for individual traders. [TODO: whether accounts may be shared, and any age requirement.]
Acceptable use
You may not:
- misuse the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or disrupt other users
- upload unlawful, infringing or malicious content
- attempt to access another user’s data
- resell or scrape the Service except as allowed by law
Free tier and paid plans
You can start for free. Paid plans, if offered later, are purchased inside the app. Prices and feature limits are shown at checkout, not on the public landing page. We may change the free tier or paid features with reasonable notice where the change is material. [TODO: notice period; refund policy; how billing works with Stripe.]
No financial advice
The Service is a record-keeping and review tool. It does not provide investment, trading or other financial advice. Trading involves risk of loss. You remain solely responsible for your trading decisions.
Your content
You retain ownership of the data you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that data solely to operate the Service. You must have the right to upload any screenshots or files you add.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance or faults may occur. [TODO: any uptime commitment, if none say “as is”.]
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Belgian law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost trading results, or indirect damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct). [TODO: have a lawyer review the liability cap, e.g. fees paid in the last 12 months.]
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or that we must terminate for legal reasons. After termination, access ends and data is handled as described in the privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Courts of [TODO: judicial district, e.g. the courts of the registered seat] have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply if you qualify as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires another process. [TODO: how material changes are communicated.]
